Chrysler Touts Hellcat Charger as World’s Most Powerful Sedan

Chrysler Group's latest model to receive the company's new supercharged 707-hp Hellcat engine is the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat.
The company says National Hot Rod Assn.-certified tests show the car can cover the quarter mile in 11.0 seconds and reach a top speed of 204 mph on street tires. It also can scoot from zero to 100 mph and back to zero in less than 13 seconds.
The ludicrously powerful engine, which makes 650 lb-ft of torque, delivers its output to the rear wheels through a fortified 8-speed automatic transmission. The powertrain is virtually identical to the Hellcat edition of the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat.
The Charger SRT Hellcat rides on 20-inch rims and 275/40 ZR-rated Pirelli P zero all-season tires. The car's "sinister" exterior evokes styling cues from the 1969 Charger, according to the company.
Inside, the car sports a customizable digital IP gauge cluster, 8.4-inch touchscreen media center, paddle shifters, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, five driving modes and a standard 900-watt, 18-speaker Harmon Kardon audio system.
Chrysler will begin making the special car at its Brampton, Ont., assembly plant early next year.
