Chrysler Group LLC plans to invest $20 million to retool and expand its factory in Perrysburg, Ohio, to increase output of torque converters for the company's next-generation nine-speed transmission by early 2015.

The Toledo Machining Plant will begin making nine-speed torque converters this summer after a $72 million overhaul that Chrysler announced in August 2011. The units will be used in the new transmission that will debut in the next-generation Jeep Cherokee midsize SUV, which is due in the third quarter.
