Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV aims to launch a crossover vehicle based on the Chrysler Pacifica minivan in mid-2019.
The long-rumored crossover was delayed slightly but now is “ready to go,” CEO Sergio Marchionne tells Motor Trend. He says the vehicle is undergoing final tweaks and could be in production within 18 months alongside the Pacifica at Chrysler’s Windsor, Ont., assembly plant.
Marchionne also says FCA’s Alfa Romeo unit is developing a three-row crossover to slot above the current Stelvio. The new model likely will bow early next decade, MT notes.
