Chrysler Denies that Marchionne Advised Investors Against IPO

Chrysler Group LLC has denied an analyst's report that CEO Sergio Marchionne told investors that a possible initial public offering in the American company "would not be the most attractive route" for them.

Bernstein Research made the assertion earlier this week in a report titled "The IPO That Will Never Happen."

Chrysler says the report mischaracterizes Marchionne's presentation and comments. The company's oddly phrased denial says neither the company nor any of its executives has "authorized any articles or recommendations" about any investment in Chrysler.
