To commemorate the 35th anniversary of the original Dodge Caravan and Plymouth Voyager minivans, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV will offer special-edition versions of the 2019 Grand Caravan and Chrysler Pacifica (pictured).

Due this summer, the anniversary models feature unique badging, black accents and metallic exterior trim. Interior highlights include black upholstery and “Cranberry Wine” accent stitching on the seats, steering wheel, door trim, instrument panel bezels and door handles.

The treatment will be available on Grand Caravan SE and SXT models. On the Pacifica and Pacifica Hybrid, the package can be added to Touring L, Touring L Plus and Limited models.

Since creating the segment in 1983, FCA has sold more than 14.6 million minivans worldwide, cwhich the company claims is twice as many as any other carmaker during that time. FCA says it accounted for 55% of the minivan segment last year.

Launched in late 1983, the original Caravan and Voyager rode on Chrysler’s ubiquitous K-platform that also carried the Dodge Omni and Plymouth Horizon cars. Championed by former CEO Lee Iacocca, the front-drive K-cars and minivans are credited with helping to save Chrysler from bankruptcy in the 1980s.
