China’s GAC Ready to Export Cars to Russia

Guangzhou Automobile Group Co. expects to begin shipping its GS8 SUV/crossover vehicle to Russia later this year.

The company plans to follow up with its GS6 small crossover and GM8 minivan. All three models will be marketed under GAC’s Trumpchi brand, which was launched in 2010.

The company sold 535,200 vehicles in China under that brand last year, Automotive News China reports. GAC says it hopes to sign existing dealers in 20 large Russia cities over the next 3-5 years to distribute the cars. The company did not disclosed its sales goals.
