The former chairman of Chinese carmaker FAW Group has been sentenced to 11.5 years in prison for accepting bribes.

Xu Jianyi was convinced by a court in Beijing with taking bribes from FAW vendors worth 12.2 million yuan ($1.9 million) between 2002 and 2013, according to state-owned China Central Television.

The report says Xu also accepted cash and gifts from FAW executives hoping to be promoted. He was arrested by government authorities in 2015.

Automotive News China notes that two other auto industry executives have been targeted by the central government’s anti-corruption campaign. Last year the former general manager of Dongfeng Motor Corp., Zhu Fushou, was expelled from the Communist Party and demoted to a mid-level manager position.

ANC says the fate of Lian Xiaoqiang, a former chairman of Fijian Motor Industry Group Co., hasn’t been disclosed since he was arrested for taking bribes.
