General Motors Co. unveiled the Chevrolet FNR-X Concept this week at the Shanghai auto show.

Described as an “all-purpose sports vehicle,” the FNR-X crossover is a follow-up to Chevy’s 2015 FNR (Find New Roads) sports car concept. Both models were created by GM’s Pan Asia Technical Automotive Center in Shanghai.

The FNR-X teams a plug-in hybrid powertrain with a host of high-performance technologies. There are two driving modes V (Versatility) and S (Sport), which adjust the vehicle’s adaptive suspension, active grille shutters and other aerodynamic features at high speeds.

Other goodies include side cameras in place of exterior rearview mirrors and rear-hinged second-row doors.

Interior highlights include ambient lighting, large OLED displays and a 270° head-up display with augmented reality settings. The seats are trimmed in what GM describes as a “high-tech” fabric. Sensors can detect different drivers and adjust settings accordingly.
