General Motors Co. will unveil an updated 2015 Chevrolet Cruze small sedan at the New York auto show this week.
The car sports a new front end, mildly revised interior and better connectivity. Powertrain options carry over from the current model year.
The updated Cruze introduces the double-decker grille design already used by the car's larger siblings, the Malibu and Impala. Other revisions include more swept-back headlamps and standard LED daytime running lights on some models.
Inside, the Cruze introduces voice controls that permit the driver to dictate responses to text messages read by the car through its audio system. The Cruze also adds Apple Inc.'s voice-activated Siri Eyes Free connectivity system for iPhone users.
Buyers of the 2015 model can opt for OnStar 4G LTE high-speed Internet connectivity and wi-fi "hot spot" capability that can handle as many as seven devices simultaneously. Eventually they also will be able to access the Chevrolet AppShop, where they can download apps directly into their car, then organize, update and/or delete them.
