Factory sales of passenger vehicles in China grew 4% in July to 1.68 million units, according to the China Assn. of Automobile Manufacturers. Total sales, including commercial trucks, climbed 6% to 1.98 million vehicles.
Last month’s gains pushed wholesales for January-July to 15.3 million unit, up 4% from the same period in 2016. Combined vehicles wholesales had declined year-on-year in April and May but recovered with a 5% increase in June.
Analysts say the rebound is being fueled in part by increased incentives.
