Tom Magliozzi, who co-hosted National Public Radio's popular "Car Talk" show with brother Ray for 37 years, has died of complications from Alzheimer's disease. He was 77.

NPR describes Car Talk as its most popular show ever. The brothers retired from the Saturday morning program two years ago after more than 1,200 episodes, but the show has continued to air in re-runs.

Billed as Click and Clack, the Tappet Brothers, the duo combined repair advice with irreverent banter, jokes and counsel that frequently ran far afield of cars.

A Cambridge, Mass., native Tom Magliozzi graduated with a chemical engineering degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He and his brother recorded their shows from a studio in Boston labeled as the fictitious law firm of Dewey, Cheetham & Howe.
