New-car deliveries in Indonesia jumped 37% year on year to 84,900 units last month, according to the Jakarta-based Assn. of Indonesia Automotive Industries (Gaikindo).
Car sales in the country had plunged 30% in June, mainly because of the effect of a long Muslim holiday. It was the first year-on-year monthly decline since a 1% dip last September.
Gaikindo says sales through the first seven months of the year totaled 618,800 units, up 4% compared with the same period in 2016.
