Wholesales of cars, trucks and buses in China rose 5% year on year to 2.2 million units in June, according to the China Assn. of Automobile Manufacturers.

Wholesales of cars, trucks and buses in China rose 5% year on year to 2.2 million units in June, according to the China Assn. of Automobile Manufacturers.

Retail sales of passenger cars also gained 5%, climbing to 1.8 million units last month, the China Passenger Car Assn. reports.

The gain CAAM describes reverses sales slippage in April (-2.2%) and May (-0.1%). The group calculates that new-vehicle deliveries to dealers through the first six months of 2017 climbed 4% to 13.4 million units. CPCA says retail sales dipped 0.2% over the same period.
