Car sales in Thailand climbed 20% year on year to 68,400 units in February, the second consecutive month of hefty gains, says the Federation of Thai Industries.

Car sales surged 60% to 26,700 units, and demand for pickup trucks grew 15% to 30,300 units. Overall vehicle sales through the first two months of 2017 are up 15%, suggesting the market’s four years of malaise are over. FTI says an expanding economy is a major factor.

The trade group predicts full-year sales will grow 4% to 800,000, marking the domestic market’s first annual increase since 2012.
