Car Sales in France Rose 5% in 2017
Registrations of new passenger vehicles in France slipped 1% to 193,400 units in December but grew 5% to 2.11 million for the year, according to industry group CCFA.

Both domestic carmakers posted gains last year. Annual sales by the core PSA Group rose 5% to 589,600 units. Sales climbed 10% to 616,600 units when Opel, which PSA acquired from General Motors Co. in August, is included.
Renault SA’s group sales advanced 3% to 534,500 units last year, in spite of a 4% drop to 50,800 units in December.
CCFA report that full-year sales in France last year grew for Volkswagen Group (+1% to 262,200 units), Toyota-Lexus (+14% to 94,100), BMW (+2% to 87,700 units), Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (+10% to 89,300), Ford (+7% to 84,400) and Daimler (+7% to 76,200).
