Market leader Maruti Suzuki India reports that its sales, including exports, dropped 24% to 122,600 units last month. Domestic sales sagged 27% to 110,500 vehicles.
SUV specialist Mahindra & Mahindra reports a 21% drop in September overall sales to 43,300 cars and trucks The company’s passenger-car deliveries plummeted 33%.
Tata Motors says its domestic sales plunged 50% to 32,400 vehicles last month. Demand for the company’s passenger vehicles fell 56%.
