Car manufacturing in Thailand will grow less than 1% this year. But that should be enough to reach 2 million units for the first time since 2013, the Federation of Thai Industries predicts.
Output last year grew 2% to within 12,000 units of 2 million, the Bangkok Post notes. Thailand exports about 60% of its vehicles.
The country’s production in 2012 and 2013 soared to 2.45 million units and a record 2.46 million vehicles, respectively. Much of the output was used to fill back orders on domestic sales generated by a government tax rebate program that expired in 2012.
