LeddarTech Inc., a Quebec City-based developer of solid-state lidar technology, says it has raised C$130 million ($101 million) in its largest funding round to date.

The funding was led by Osram Licht AG. Other investors include Delphi Automotive, Magneti Marelli, Integrated Device Technology and Fonds de Solidarité.

LeddarTech plans to use the cash to expand its research and development team, accelerate lidar development programs with customers and further its development of application specific integrated circuits. As part of its investment, Magneti Marelli says it also has entered into a technical and commercial cooperation agreement with LeddarTech to jointly develop lidar systems that are integrated with automotive lighting modules.

LeddarTech, which was founded in 2007, says it uses patented signal acquisition and light-wave-digital-signal processing techniques. The technology generates cleaner return signals with better range and “significantly higher” sensitivity than other solid-state lidar, the company claims.
