Light-vehicle sales in Canada rose 8% to 187,300 units in September, according to Automotive News. Deliveries through the first nine months of 2017 gained 6% to 1.60 million vehicles.

Monthly sales by market leader Ford climbed 2% to 30,900 units. Volumes also rose for the next four top sellers: General Motors (+7% to 27,200 vehicles), Toyota (+15% to 22,000), Hyundai-Kia (9% to 19,800) and Honda (+3% to 18,200).

Ford, Honda, Nissan and Toyota each posted September sales records. AN says the market is likely to set a full-year record by exceeding 2 million deliveries in 2017.
