Connecticut-based tuner Callaway says it will begin production in January of a shooting brake version of the new Corvette Stingray dubbed the Callaway AeroWagon.
The two-door wagon, also known as a shooting brake, features a carbon-fiber rear hatch and expanded cargo room. The car will not gain two extra seats, however, and no four-door versions are planned.
The AeroWagon retains the standard C7 Corvette's rear fascia and taillights. The conversion is priced at about $15,000 in natural carbon fiber, or an additional $1,500 painted to match the body. Modifications will be performed at Callaway's facility in Santa Ana, Calif.
The company says the wagon's performance will be comparable to the C7 Corvette. But it says the shooting brake could have a higher top speed because of its slightly lower drag coefficient.
