General Motors Co.'s Cadillac luxury vehicle unit hopes to achieve worldwide sales of about 300,000 units in 2015 compared with 251,000 in 2013, The Detroit News reports.

GM tells the newspaper it has more Cadillac vehicles under development than ever and will roll out at least one new model per year through 2020. This year's entries include the ATS coupe, ELR plug-in hybrid and a redesigned Escalade SUV.

IHS Automotive cautions that Cadillac sales may grow only 5% this year because the brand lacks enough entries in the fast-growing small crossover market.

Much of the brand's growth will come in China, according to Bob Ferguson, who heads Cadillac's global operations. The unit's sales there expanded by two-thirds to more than 50,000 units last year. Ferguson aims to double that volume in China by 2015.
