Robert Bosch GmbH has opened a new Hungarian headquarters in Budapest to house its local operations and a new plant in Chengdu, China, to manufacture automotive chassis safety systems.
The Hungarian headquarters is home to 350 employees in sales, administration and engineering. Bosch says the building represents the first step in a plan to invest €100 million ($132 million) in Budapest by 2015. When completed, the center will house about 850 engineers.
In Chengdu, Bosch has already spent €35 million ($46 million) out of a planned €100 million investment in a plant to make antilock braking systems and electronic stability control systems for the Chinese market.
The new factory will join two other Bosch Chassis System Control division operations in China: a brake control system factory in Suzhou and a test track in Donghai.
