Stuttgart-based Borgward took the wraps off its Isabella concept car this week at the Frankfurt auto show.

Reviving the name of one of Borgward’s most popular models, the Isabella concept was penned by former BMW and Mini designer Anders Warming. The curvaceous 2+2 sedan features a coupe-like roofline and rear-end, and sliding doors without a traditional B-pillar.

The interior is highlighted by vibrant colors and a sweeping center console. Several touchscreen displays replace traditional buttons and knobs.

Power comes from an unspecified all-electric powertrain.

Borgward, which dates back to 1919, went bankrupt in 1961. The company was revived in 2008 with backing from Beijing-based Beiqi Foton Motor Co. Borgward launched its first new model, the BX7 crossover/SUV, in 2015 in China. That vehicle recently received approval for sale in Europe.
