BMW AG will reveal the two-door convertible version of its all-new 4 Series coupe at the Los Angeles auto show in November. The model will go on sale in the U.S. in the first quarter of 2014.
The 4 Series drop-top replaces the 3 Series convertible in BMW's lineup. The new model will feature the same style three-piece folding hardtop roof system used in the previous edition.
BMW plans two gasoline engine options for the U.S. market. The $49,700 428i model will be fitted with a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that makes 240 hp and 255 lb-ft of torque. The $55,800 435i will feature a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-6 that produces 300 hp and 300 lb-ft of torque.
Both engines will deliver power through an 8-speed automatic transmission. BMW will offer all-wheel drive as an option with the smaller powerplant.
