BMW to Decide Soon on Russia Production

CEO Norbert Reithofer tell The Wall Street Journal that BMW AG may decide within the next few months whether to begin building vehicles from scratch in Russia.

The company currently assembles some models there from kits. The newspaper reported in January that BMW was in talks about Russia capacity.

The Journal doesn't say whether the company is thinking of erecting its own plant or sourcing vehicles from another carmaker's factory in Russia.
