BMW AG says it will begin to make its Mini small car this summer at the factory in Born, Netherlands, operated by contract assembler VDL Nedcar.
BMW currently produces about 60% of all Minis at its plant in Oxford, England, which has capacity to make about 260,000 vehicles annually. Last year it also contracted Magna Steyr to assemble 125,600 Minis in Graz, Austria.
BMW says Nedcar's Mini production will reach a "five-digit figure" this year.
