BMW AG has discontinued production of its 3 Series sedan at its factory in Pretoria, South Africa.
The plant will retool to produce X3 small SUVs. Its Model 3 output will be reassigned to the new plant BMW plans to open in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, next year.
The Rosslyn plan has produced nearly 1.2 million 3 Series cars in the past 35 years.
