BMW Adds Research Office in Shanghai

BMW AG has opened a technology research office in Shanghai to develop vehicles tailored to the needs of Chinese consumers.

The new center joins BMW's design studio and ConnectedDrive Lab in the city. The new tech office will work with existing BMW vehicle development centers in Beijing and Shenyang, China.

BMW says a key focus for the unit will be assessing how urbanization and "megacities" influence mobility.
