Beast-Supercar Maker Readies Tank-Like SUV

Santa Ana, Calif.-based Rezvani Automotive Designs plans to introduce a new model, the military-inspired Tank SUV, later this year.

The body-on-frame Tank will be fitted with all-terrain tires and what’s described as a world-class suspension system. Four-wheel drive will be standard.

Buyers can choose either a 3.6-liter V-6 engine or a 6.4-liter V-8 that makes 500 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque. An even more powerful option will be added next year, according to media reports.

A rendering of the four-door vehicle shows bold styling with a Humvee-like profile. Available features include armored body panels and a night-vision thermal camera.

The company, which was founded in 2014 by Ferris Rezvani, launched the Ariel Atom-based Beast supercar a year later. The carmaker now makes several variants of the car, which was designed by former Aston Martin and Ferrari designer Samir Sadikhov.
