General Motors Co. CEO Mary Barra will meet on June 18 with the U.S. House Energy and Commerce Committee to review the company's 325-page report about its repeated failure to recall defective ignition switches.
Barra will be accompanied by Anton Valukas, the former U.S. Dept. of Justice investigator who wrote the scathing report. His analysis describes a "history of failures" to fix the switch's problems.
Committee Chairman Fred Upton (R-Mich.) has signaled that Barra will be quizzed about how she is restructuring the company and attempting to change its bureaucratic culture.
