The overall winner will be announced next week. This year’s contenders are:
- Acerta Analytics Solutions (Kitchener, Canada) — machine learning data management
- Chanje (Los Angeles) — last-mile electric vehicle delivery systems
- GBatteries Energy (Ottawa, Canada) — artificial intelligence-based EV charging systems
- GuardKnox Cyber Technologies (Ramla, Israel) — cybersecurity and personalization technologies
- Humanising Autonomy (London) — AI-based pedestrian detection technology
- Silicon Mobility (Valbonne, France) — advanced semiconductors to improve EV efficiencies
- StreetScooter (Aachen, Germany) — electric scooter and charging technology provider
- TriEye (Tel Aviv) — low-visibility imaging for autonomous and advanced driver-assistance technologies
- TuSimple (San Diego) — self-driving commercial trucks
- Wunder Mobility (Hamburg) — mobility services developer
More than 160 startups worldwide applied for the award, which is in its sixth year. This year’s award is co-sponsored by Michigan Economic Development Corp.'s PlanetM mobility initiative and Plug and Play, an innovation platform that connects startups with industry partners.
