Auto Production in Thailand Jumps to 5-Year High

Domestic output of new cars in Thailand rose 21% to 197,200 units in October, the greatest volume in 63 months, according to the Federation of Thai Industries.

FTI says the country’s production through the first 10 months of 2018 totaled 1.8 million units, up 10% compared to the same period last year. Domestic sales climbed 27% to 86,900 units last month and 21% to 833,500 units in January-October.

Thailand’s vehicle exports advanced 1% to 952,100 units over the 10-month period, including a 3% gain to 93,300 units in October, according to FTI.
