Audi AG says SUV/crossovers could eventually account for half the brand’s global sales, up from 33% in 2016.
The company’s SUV sales ratio is already at 47% in the U.S. and nearly 40% in China, according to sales and marketing chief Dietmar Voggenreiter. By 2019 Audi’s lineup of such vehicles will expand from four to seven.
Last year Audi introduced the Q2 small crossover. In 2018 it will add an all-electric model and debut its range-topping Q8 large crossover. The Q4, a sport coupe-like SUV inspired by the TT Offroad concept it presented at the Beijing auto show three years ago, is due in 2019.
