Volkswagen AG’s Audi unit has decided against making a production version of its high-end Sport Quattro concept car.
Audi boss Stephan Winkelmann describes the stylish coupe as a “nice dream.” But the carmaker would be better served focusing on current models and others already in the pipeline, he tells Car and Driver.
The next wave of products will include more crossovers and SUVs, according to the report. Also said to be in the works are RS performance variants of the A4 and A6 cars.
Speculation has been rampant about the Sport Quattro since the concept was unveiled at the 2010 Paris auto show. An updated version was unveiled in 2013.
