Audi Names New Manufacturing Chief

Hubert Walti has been named to succeed Frank Dreves as head of production at Volkswagen AG's Audi unit. He will begin on April 1.

Walti began his career in 1976 as a toolmaker at Audi's plant in Ingolstadt, German. By 2002 he was responsible for all toolmaking activities at Audi. In 2009 he became a member of the Volkswagen Cars management board in charge of production and logistics.

Between 2009 and this year Walti oversaw the launch VW's modular production system for Volkswagen Cars.
