The supervisory board of Volkswagen AG’s Audi unit has voted unanimously to extend embattled CEO Rupert Stadler’s contract for another five years.
The supervisory board of Volkswagen AG’s Audi unit has voted unanimously to extend embattled CEO Rupert Stadler’s contract for another five years.
Stadler has led Audi to steady sales growth since 2007. But he has faced strong criticism about the company’s participation in VW’s diesel emission cheating scandal.
Two months ago prosecutors in Germany raided Audi facilities as part of an investigation into Audi V-6 diesels that were rigged to evade emission tests. Stadler is likely to be grilled on the issue on Thursday during Audi’s annual shareholder meeting.
