This month Audi AG will begin offering London-based Parkopedia’s parking app in its cars around the world, following the application's rollout in China earlier this year.

The service helps drivers find, compare, reserve and pay for available parking spots from participating providers. Users also can access information about a facility’s hours of operation, contact details, security systems, electric charging ports and overhead clearance and other parking restrictions.

The system generates a clickable map of nearby parking spots after a user enters a destination and estimated time of arrival. Real-time information is available for more than 50 million on- and off-street public and private spaces in 75 countries, according to Parkopedia.

Formed in 2007, Parkopedia claims to be the world’s largest parking service provider. The company’s customer list includes Apple, BMW, Ford, Garmin, General Motors, Jaguar Land Rover, Mazda, Peugeot, TomTom, Toyota and Volvo.
