Attendance Dips 4% at Detroit Auto Show

Ticketed attendance at this year’s Detroit auto show totaled 774,200 people, down about 35,000 visitors from last year’s event, according to organizers.

The Detroit venue, which has kicked off the global auto show season for decades, will move from January to June in 2020.

Organizers envision a festival-like event next year, with the formal show supplemented with outdoor product demonstrations and other activations located in multiple parks within the downtown Detroit area. The show reportedly also may get a new name.
