Aston Martin Lagonda Ltd. has released a photo showing a camouflaged version of its upcoming V8 Vantage supercar. The new model will be publicly unveiled later this year.
The so-called baby Aston Martin will ride on the shortened version of the aluminum platform that carries the DB11, making it lighter and stiffer than the current Vantage. Styling cues are borrowed from Aston Martin’s DB10 and Vulcan models.
Power will come from a Mercedes-Benz 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 that will be tuned to generate about 500 hp. The engine will be mated to a choice of a 6-speed manual or dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Aston Martin also plans a V-12 version and AMR-badged track car.
