Thailand’s domestic car market peaked at 1.45 million in 2012, buoyed by tax breaks and demand for replacement vehicles following widespread flooding the previous year. But annual volume has been sliding since then. Full-year sales in 2015 were just under 800,000 units, the Post says.
Deliveries through the first 10 months of 2016 totaled 617,200 units, 1% below the same period last year. Marketers aren’t optimistic about a year-end rally after detecting a slump in buying sentiment at the just-ended Thailand auto show.
