Airbiquity Named Telematics Provider of the Year

Seattle-based Airbiquity Inc. has been named this year’s Telematics Solution Provider as part of Tech Breakthrough’s annual Mobile Breakthrough Awards.

Airbiquity was praised for its OTAmatic system that enables over-the-air software updates in vehicles. The technology also can be used for cloud-based data management, fleet monitoring, customized consumer communications and privacy controls, according to the supplier.

Telematics is the only automotive-related segment among the 18 categories assessed by the awards, which are sponsored by Tech Breakthrough, a 5-year-old marketing company. The honors also include Cloud Computing, Mobile Management, Wireless, Broadband, Mobile Analytics, Internet of Things and Smart City technologies.

More than 2,500 companies, technologies and people were nominated this year from 14 countries. Winners were selected based on innovation, performance and industry and consumer applications by a panel of judges that includes a mix of journalists, analysts and industry executives.
