General Motors Co. has advised dealers in the U.S. and Canada to suspend deliveries of certain 2013-2014 Chevrolet Cruze sedans because of a "suspect" airbag inflator module, Automotive News reports.
AN says the order refers to airbag systems supplied by Takata Corp. Seven other carmakers are recalling some 10 million vehicles worldwide to replace Takata inflators that could explode.
GM says the targeted Cruze models may have been assembled with "an incorrect part." The company estimates the problem affects about 33,000 Cruze models either delivered to customers or still in dealer inventory.
The company tells AN it hasn't determined whether it will recall the sold units.
