Mazda Motor Corp. is recalling 307,800 of its sedans in the U.S. and Canada to fix faulty parking brakes.
The campaign involves 2014-2016 model Mazda3 small sedans and 2014-2015 model Mazda6 midsize sedans.
Corrosion could cause the hand brake system to jam, either causing it to drag when the car is moving or fail to clamp hard enough to secure the vehicle on a hill. Mazda reports incidents of both problems. The company expects to launch the callback in August.
