SAMPE moves, expands European conference

Monday, March 17, 2014

The Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering (SAMPE, Covina, Calif., USA) reported on March 12 that the SAMPE Europe Board of Directors has elected to change the strategic direction of the SAMPE Europe conference program. Until now, the SAMPE Europe conference has been held in conjunction with the JEC Europe trade show in Paris, France.

Starting in 2015, SAMPE Europe will create one large European conference (combining SEICO and SETEC). The SAMPE France chapter will be the first host chapter for this new event, which will be held in Amiens, France, a one-hour train ride from the Paris Charles De Gaulle airport. The region is home to Airbus A350 XWB fuselage manufacturing.

SAMPE Europe says it intends to develop the combined SEICO and SETEC conferences, which will have a new name and branding. This event will travel to major industrial centers in Europe. This will be a multi-track, multi-disciplinary conference event. An exhibition will accompany the new conference.

In spring 2015, alongside the JEC Europe 2015 show, SAMPE Europe will create a one or one-and-a-half day executive advanced materials summit. This summit will feature presenters addressing key issues affecting the composites and advanced materials community in Europe. This new event will be held on the day prior to the opening of the JEC Europe 2015 exhibition.
