EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree with formal graphic design training or equivalent experience

EXPERIENCE: At least 6-8 years of professional experience with an in-house design group or a small design firm

This is a full-time onsite position that will collaborate directly with our events group, marketing managers and offsite sales teams. The designer’s primary responsibility will be to ensure the delivery of collateral supporting Gardner’s B2B product mix in print, digital, social and sponsored trade events. Position requires occasional travel to support efforts at our events, conferences and industry trade shows.

 This role requires a variety of detailed, technical and conceptual design disciplines in both print and digital mediums. Designer will provide an aesthetic balance for on-brand assets coupled with audience-focused content and messaging. This balance carries clear hierarchy of content architecture, readability formulas and design sensibilities using established graphic standards.

Ideal candidates should have some prior experience designing collateral for print, digital domains and trade industry events. Please provide examples of your creative work for trade show display graphics, digital promotions for online/mobile and any projects that represent creative efforts that offer a compelling approach to delivering messaging to their intended audiences.


  • Communicate effectively with in-house and off-site work groups
  • Provide appropriate solutions to quick-turn projects while staying on brand
  • Highly proficient in Adobe CC Suite: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat
  • Functional familiarity with photography, MS Office suite, Bridge, and Camera Raw
  • Knowledgeable about fonts sets, typeface trends and typographic boundaries
  • Basic understanding of standards for HTML/CSS are a benefit
  • Confidence and understanding within your operating system: Apple or Windows


  • Collaborate proactively with project stakeholders in our sales, event and marketing departments
  • Deliver work that connects with our audiences using appropriate brand aesthetics and message hierarchy
  • Ensure final work is ready for production in any number of in-house and off-site printing processes
  • Creatively work within the established look and feel of our existing brands
  • Fluid execution of layout and design using the Adobe CC suite of products
  • Sort, process, manipulate, and enhance digital imagery with PSD
  • Delivery of UI artwork necessary for deployment via online/mobile
  • Ownership to assigned projects from initial job request through the final delivery of production files
  • Prioritize creative work and productivity needs inside multiple projects
  • Continually stay aware of influences to graphic design, typographic techniques, design software and visual trends
