Seeking Social Media Intern for Editorial Team

Cincinnati-based publisher Gardner Business Media (www.gardnerweb.com) is looking for one full-time Summer 2019 Intern to work on content-based social media across all of the company's media titles.

This competitively paid position requires someone who’s detail-oriented, organized, motivated and seeking to hone his or her social skills in a collaborative, professional environment. We're looking for someone with passion and energy for social media, experience with either Business to Business, or Business to Consumer social communications, and the confidence to help lead our efforts in this area.

Ideally, we’re looking for a college junior, senior or graduate student majoring in journalism, English, marketing, communications or a related field, with sophisticated knowledge of the social media landscape to come assist Gardner Business Media's editorial teams in honing social strategy and execution.

The right candidate will:

  • Have deep familiarity with both strategy and execution for Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and YouTube.
  • Be a self-starter, unafraid to come to the table with fresh ideas, and able to complete projects with relatively little monitoring.
  • Know the ins and outs of social scheduling and monitoring through a program such as Hootsuite or Sprout or HeyOrca.
  • Understand paid social programming and audience identification and targeting.
  • Have experience with social media analytics, including Google Analytics and Facebook Insights.

In this role, you will:

  • Create and implement social campaigns.
  • Set up structure for project management and campaigns across multiple media brands.
  • Join the online conversation—monitoring sites to engage readers and followers with comments, likes and shares.
  • Perform data entry as it relates to social programs.
  • Work with editorial teams to create engaging social content.
  • Asist with a number of other web-based projects such search engine optimization and content management.
