For the right candidate, this opportunity promises a high-profile role in the strategic management and development of existing and new products, hands-on with the selling process and leading our worldclass automotive content team. To excel in this role, you understand the importance of developing and maintaining a strong network, both internally and externally. You are comfortable participating in complex industry discussions with high level stakeholders, and understand how to drive revenue by closing business and coaching a team to do the same. You are savvy with a digital media portfolio and recognize value in all aspects of a balanced digital product mix. You possess the ability to work collaboratively and communicate with a team eager to support your efforts.

This position will be based in Detroit and will report to the President in Cincinnati.

Core Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow Gardner’s Automotive business unit (serving the automotive manufacturing, design and production from C-Suite to production) into the number one media, events, data and marketing services platform, including P&L accountability
  • Develop sales and marketing go-to-market strategy for the Automotive media brands,events, integrated business development projects, market intelligence and marketing services
  • Make an immediate impact and build and maintain a strong network with various stakeholders
  • Create business strategy, annual budgets and revenue forecasts
  • Establish new products, strategic partnerships and business development joint ventures
  • Cultivate and develop sales organization for ultimate effectiveness
  • Maintain sales involvement and relationships with key customers
  • Collaborate and oversee various teams including editorial, marketing, finance, accounting, audience development, operations and technology
  • Participate and collaborate in projects that run across Gardner’s various media brands

Requirements

  • College Degree
  • Strong understanding of digital media
  • Sales leadership, revenue driver, market analysis
  • Performance, results orientation and product development
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) and team player
  • Networking and negotiation skills
  • Business acumen
  • This job requires traveling 6-8 weeks per year
