ABOUT THIS ROLE

The Entry Level Help Desk Support Specialist will report to the Head of IT Infrastructure and have responsibility for assisting customers, staff, assisting on-site desktop support and troubleshooting. Gardner has made significant investments in software and employees over the last few years.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as the first point of contact for customers seeking technical assistance
  • Provide on-site desktop support
  • Perform remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions
  • Determine the best solution based on the issue and details provided by customers
  • Walk the customer through the problem-solving process
  • Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel
  • Provide accurate information on IT products or services
  • Record events and problems and their resolution
  • Follow-up and update customer status and information
  • Pass on any feedback or suggestions by customers to the appropriate internal team
  • Identify and suggest possible improvements on procedures
  • Assist with setup, configuration, and installation of devices, equipment, software, printers and other peripherals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

TOP SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong drive to provide excellent customer service and experience, with an awareness of prioritization of tasks, stakeholders, and time
  • Good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices and other tech products
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve basic technical issues
  • BS/BA in IT, Computer Science or relevant field preferred
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; ability to lift at least 25 pounds
  • Understanding and appreciation for information security within systems and user devices.
