Capital Spending Tooling Survey Indicates 13% Increase in Spending on Cutting Tools

Gardner Business Intelligence's Capital Spending Survey is an annual survey that collects statistics regarding budgeted spending on machine tools, testing equipment, software and more that are then projected across the metalworking industry based on plant size. The results from Gardner Intelligence’s 2019 Capital Spending Tooling survey indicated a 13% increase in spending on cutting tools. This is only slightly greater than the actualized results provided by the U.S. Cutting Tool Institute. Through April, annualized cutting tool growth grew at 9.9% with a peak of 10.6% in January.
