Editorial Scope
Production Machining Magazine is dedicated to coverage of the manufacture of Precision Parts in high volumes-commonly referred to as the Screw Machine Industry. Articles and illustrations of products and services germane to all aspects of this industry are welcome.

Editorial Mission
The editorial mission of Production Machining Magazine is to provide readers with clear, comprehensive and useful information about the emergence of new technologies and successful applications of technologies. It is our mission to present this information in a practical form that helps manufacturers of precision parts be more competitive.

Editorial Departments
We have divided Production Machining into different departments to help readers find information of interest. Subject to editorial discretion, contributed material is accepted for all of these departments.

 PM News

This section covers time-sensitive industry events, personnel changes, re-locations, news about companies and other industry specific news. This is a text only section. Word count 100-250

 Tech Briefs

In Tech Briefs, we cover technological innovations as they relate to the manufacturing of precision machined parts. We ask for a concise, generic treatment of the subject technology that cites the potential usefulness of the product or service as it relates to the reader's interest. Good quality color photography and/or illustrations are mandatory. Word Count 800-1,000

 Feature Articles

Each issue of Production Machining Magazine has an emphasis topic. Feature treatment is focused on these topics. A feature article should present a comprehensive discussion of the topic. Story angles include case studies of successful shop practices that can relate to other shops. Further, a feature can cover a detailed explanation of a process or technology that has potential to positively impact the operation of a manufacturer's business. It is highly recommended that contributors consult the editor prior to submission of potential feature material. Good quality color photography and illustrations are mandatory. Word count 1,800-2,000

 Case In Point

Here we cover applied technology by discussing how a product or service has positively impacted, in a quantified way, the operation of a precision machined parts business. It's a case study format that states a problem and explains how application of a product or service solved the problem. This solution is quantified by explaining in various metrics-better throughput, lower costs, faster cycle times, longer tool life, etc. Good quality color photography and/or illustrations are mandatory for Case In Point. Word count 800-1,000

 PM Products

Press releases should cite the features and benefits of new products or services that relate to the screw machine industry. A good quality color photograph and/or illustration is preferred but not mandatory. Word count 200-500

 Literature

Selected brochure covers representing products or services relating to screw machine manufacturing are published in this section. Submission must include a clean copy of the proposed literature piece. A brief explanatory write-up of the subject, generated by Production Machining, will accompany the published literature item.
